I of my favorite band's albums, EP'due south, compilations & random shit all ranked worst to best.
| 15 | | 15.Modest MouseBlue Cadet-3, Do You Connect? (1994) [EP] | ||
| ii/5 They were still figuring out the direction they wanted to go with this, nothing remarkable. Best Song: It Always Rains On A Picnic Worst Songs: Woodgrain, 'v,4,3,2,i...Lisp Off' | ||||
| 14 | | 14.Modest MouseSad Sappy Sucker (2001) | ||
| two.v/5 Shelved first album, and rightfully so because there's nada that interesting bated from a few riffs here and in that location. Expert executive decision by whoever made it; most probable the ring. Best Song: Every Penny Fed Automobile Worst Songs: All the dial-upwardly crap | ||||
| 13 | | 13.Modest MouseThe Fruit That Ate Itself (1997) [EP] | ||
| 2.five/5 The band fifty-fifty said they were pretty disappointed with this release and I tin see why. Almost all of these songs are either pointless filler or songs that weren't quite good plenty for any studio albums. 'Summertime' is a great song well-nigh... well, summer; so at that place ya go. Best Song: Summer Worst Songs: Untitled 1, 2 & 3 (I Detest POINTLESS FILLER!) | ||||
| 12 | | 12.Minor MouseBaron von Bullshit Rides Again (2004) | ||
| 2.5/5 Basically a bunch of bootleg quality recordings of some of their best work. The most memorable office of the whole thing is the 'Free Bird' rant at the cease of Paper Sparse Walls. Other than that, nothin' really stands out. Best Songs: Paper Sparse Walls, Bankrupt On Selling Worst Song: Doin' the Cockroach | ||||
| 11 | | 11.Pocket-sized MouseStrangers to Ourselves (2015) | ||
| 3/5 An album that follows in the same path of crappily produced songs that audio substantially better alive, especially 'Sugar Boats' and 'The Best Room.' 'The Ground Walks, With Time In A Box' saved this album from being a full thwarting for me. Best Songs: Lampshades On Burn down, 'The Footing Walks, With Fourth dimension In A Box,' Sugar Boats Worst Songs: Of Course Nosotros Know, Shit In Your Cut | ||||
| ten | | 10.Modest MouseEverywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks (2001) [EP] | ||
| 3/v I never got into this one as much as other people. Although at that place are some pretty decent tracks on here, none of them really elevate me equally much every bit anything on their previous studio albums. Props to them for experimenting a drastically different audio tho. Best Songs: Here Information technology Comes, I Came Every bit A Rat (Long Walk Off A Short Dock) Worst Song: The Air | ||||
| 9 | | ix.Minor MouseNo I's Showtime, and You're Next (2009) [EP] | ||
| 3/5 I had only one question for the ring in 2009: why in the fuck was 'King Rat' not put on We Were Dead...? I hateful seriously, it'southward past far the all-time song off this EP, it beats anything off of Nosotros Were Dead for me... and it'due south even meliorate live. Maybe some executive scum at Epic Records didn't allow them to put it on the anthology, i don't fuckin' know. Expect, maybe that'south why they randomly out of nowhere released it as a standalone single! Ahhhh, now I get information technology! Don't sign to major labels kids, especially if, you know, want to really take command over your music output. What you read to a higher place is me writing this at approx. iii:56 A.M. on a piece of work night considering I accept nothing better to exercise with my life. It'south as well almost all bullshit. I know Isaac came out and said it didn't make the album for reasons and stuff. It's withal a fucking bang-up rail and should've been on the anthology dammit. OK, my brain is now melting out of my ear and I need sleeps so goodnight! Best Songs: King Rat, Autumn Beds Worst Song: Perpetual Motility Machine | ||||

| 8 | | 8.Modest MouseNosotros Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank (2007) | ||
| 3.25/5 On relisten, it's amend than I remember, but the production boggs this downwardly too much. Great tracks like "Fly Trapped In A Jar" and "Departing of the Sensory" endure from this, all of that extra percussion is almost completely drowned out. The bad production seems to be a continuing tendency because both following records endure from the same thing. All-time Songs: March Into the Ocean, Spitting Venom, Picayune Motel Worst Song: Fire It Up | ||||
| vii | | 7.Minor MouseNight on the Lord's day (2000) [EP] | ||
| three.25/5 This gets a ane-up over "Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks" considering it takes the all-time iv songs from that, and puts them on hither. Smash: slightly more than enjoyable EP. All-time Song: I Came As A Rat (Long Walk Off A Short Dock) - I definitely prefer the "Moon and Antarctica" version though xP Worst Song: Willful Suspension Of Disbelief - (It Ain't that bad though) | ||||
| vi | | vi.Modest MouseInterstate viii (1996) [EP] | ||
| iii.5/v The demo/alive tracks or whatsoever are nothing special, and most all of which were re-recorded and/or fabricated better in the coming years, so don't bother with the 2d half of this. The first half however, disregarding "Building Nothing Out Of Something" which didn't come out for another 4 years, has some truly fantastic tracks. 'Edit The Sad Parts' is one of MoMo's all-time and most underrated tracks and I'm honestly shocked it never made information technology onto a bigger release (Bonus track on the vinyl only version of TIALDFSWNTTA? come on, it deserves better than that). Just anyways, truly moving song and I strongly recommend watching the fan-made music video with clips from the documentary "The Bridge" (link beneath). It'll get out you lot, or it should go out y'all, speechless for a couple minutes as it did me. WATCH THIS: https://world wide web.youtube.com/sentinel?v=49Gz0Jfp-jI&spfreload=10 Best Songs: Edit The Distressing Parts, Interstate 8, Tundra/Desert Worst Song: Embankment Side Property [demo] | ||||
| 5 | | 5.Modest MouseThis Is a Long Drive for Someone With Zip to Think About (1996) | ||
| iii.75/5 Even though this anthology could've been 15 minutes shorter, it'due south even so a pretty damn solid debut. Suggesting from the title, this is mainly for listening to on (whaddaya know it?) long drives with nada to recollect about, and honestly it really is more enjoyable that way. And then there ya go, mind to this for an hour and fifteen minutes when you're driving somewhere. All-time Songs: Breakthrough, Caput South, Tundra/Desert, Dramamine Worst Song: Dog Paddle | ||||
| four | | four.Modest MouseEdifice Goose egg Out of Something (2000) [Compilation] | ||
| four/5 Swell collection of non-album singles and junk, especially honey the soothing ambience and progression of 'Medication.' One of their more underrated songs for sure. Best Songs: Never Ending Math Equation, Broke, Medication, A Life Of Arctic Sounds, Other People's Lives Worst Song (Even though there isn't a bad vocal on this): Whenever You Breathe Out, I Breathe In (Positive Negative) | ||||
| 3 | | 3.Pocket-size MouseGood News for People Who Love Bad News (2004) | ||
| four/5 Some of their best and honest tracks on here. "The Earth At Large" and "Float On" deserve all the hype and acclaim they get. "The Good Times Are Killing Me" has always been i my absolute favorite songs of all fourth dimension. I just dearest how sincere and hopeful Isaac sounds on that runway. If I had to depict the give-and-take 'bittersweet' with a song, that's one that immediately comes to mind. Get rid of the meh interludes and tweak a couple songs and this has the potential to exist every bit slap-up as 'The Moon & Antarctica,' but it is what it is. Best Songs: The World At Large, Bladder On, Coffin Me With Information technology, The Expert Times Are Killing Me Worst Songs: Horn Intro, Dig Your Grave, Interlude (Milo) | ||||
| 2 | | ii.Modest MouseThe Moon & Antarctica (2000) | ||
| iv.5/5 Fantastic all around, Isaac's lyrics are as captivating as ever, "The universe is shaped exactly like the Earth, if y'all go directly long enough, y'all'll end upwards where yous were." MoMo really reached their peak on this album musically and sonically and haven't fabricated an album nearly as skillful since. All-time Songs: third Planet, Gravity Rides Everything, Nighttime Center Of The Universe, Tiny Cities Fabricated Of Ashes, Wild Packs Of Family Dogs Worst Song (Even though there isn't a bad song on this): Life Like Weeds | ||||
| ane | | ane.Pocket-sized MouseThe Lonesome Crowded W (1997) | ||
| v/5 1 of the best albums always, honestly. Non ane song fails to obsess on here, and 'Trailer Trash' has that rare "perfect" moment in a song with that guitar solo at the 4:07 marker. A goddamn classic, anyone who tells y'all otherwise is just incorrect... and stupid... and dumb... and wrong. Best Songs: Teeth Like God's Shoeshine, Doin' The Cockroach, Cowboy Dan, Trailer Trash, Shit Luck, Broke On Selling Worst Vocal (If I Had To Pick I): Out Of Gas | ||||
