News of the Globe is the sixth studio album by the British rock band Queen, released on 28 October 1977 by EMI Records in the United kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States. News of the World initially received mixed reviews, mostly reflecting on the album'south shift towards a more minimalist audio, and abroad from the ring's previous predominantly progressive rock audio.[38] The Washington Post commended the band's experimentation within a range of hard rock to soft rock,[10] while Rolling Stone magazine's Bart Testa noted, "Most of the songs on News of the World either challenge Queen'due south creative enemies or endeavor to establish a vision of the new order." 40th anniversary edition [edit]
